The patrimonial trees of Guayaquil, have an average age that exceeds 70 years, are more than 30 meters high, giving it a remarkable dimension and accumulated biomass. The ‘green giants’ provide majesty to the city and shade, fresh air, visits of birds and other species, to the various generations of families that have grown up with them.
For a tree to be patrimonial, it must meet certain requirements, such as its cultural and natural historical importance, its life span, its scientific contribution (if it is endemic, native) and its size.

Los ‘gigantes verdes’ proporcionan majestuosidad a la ciudad y sombra, aire fresco, visita de aves y otras especies, a las varias generaciones de familia que han crecido junto a ellos.
Para que un árbol sea patrimonial debe reunir ciertos requisitos, como la importancia histórica tanto cultural como natural, el tiempo de vida, el aporte científico (si es endémica, nativa) y su tamaño.
