Description

The Arab Tower, also known as Torre Mora, is located in the centre of the municipality of Albal, Valencia, although it was formerly located outside the town along the Alcácer road. This architectural structure, which once formed part of the defensive enclosure of the Islamic farmstead, is a rectangular tower measuring 6x5 metres on each side, slightly prismatic and topped with battlements. It has an entrance that is accessible by a small staircase located on the ground floor of the building, in addition, we highlight two upper floors covered with barrel vaults that complement the construction system of load-bearing stone walls with rammed earth.

For years the Arab Tower has been semi-abandoned, however, it has recently been restored, demolishing part of the buildings that surrounded it and rehabilitating its surroundings, and is now in perfect condition. It currently houses the Municipal Ethnological Museum and has been declared an asset of cultural interest.
