The chimney under study was part of an old brick factory Ladrillera Bernardo Martínez, nowadays disappeared, of which only this architectural element and the storage buildings remain.
The date of the factory's disappearance does not appear in the municipal archives, nor are there any bibliographical references to the factory. The only reference is obtained from oral sources and its belonging to Mr. Bernardo Martínez, a native of Museros.
Currently, the plot where the chimney is located was acquired by the company Cales de la Plana in 1997, being the factory already disappeared.
The chimney is a free-standing construction, about 25 meters high and would be attached to the old factory.
The base of the chimney is quadrangular with a prismatic transition. The shaft is octagonal, divided into 18 sections by iron rings, which also served as a support element for the successive repairs and cleaning of the chimney. The shaft is topped by a tulip. The factory is of brick.
Its state of conservation is regular, it presents a slight inclination towards the north and would need consolidation interventions.
This architectural element is related to the Industrial Heritage of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In the whole region of L'Horta, at the end of the 19th century brick factories or rajolars were built, documenting in the first half of the 20th century 14 factories in this area near the city of Valencia.
La chimenea objeto de estudio formaba parte de una antigua fábrica de ladrillos Ladrillera Bernardo Martínez, hoy en día desaparecida, y de la que únicamente queda este elemento arquitectónico y las naves de almacenaje.
La fecha de desaparición de la fábrica no figura en los archivos municipales así como tampoco existen referencias bibliográficas de la fábrica. La única referencia que se obtiene de fuentes orales y su pertenencia a D. Bernardo Martínez, oriundo de Museros.
Actualmente, la parcela en la que se ubica la chimenea fue adquirida por la empresa Cales de la Plana en 1997, estando ya la fábrica desaparecida.
La chimenea es una construcción exenta, de unos 25 metros de altura y estaría adosada a la antigua fábrica.
La base de la chimenea es cuadrangular con transición prismática. El fuste es octogonal dividido en 18 secciones mediante aros de hierro, que también cumplían la función de elemento de apoyo para las sucesivas reparaciones y limpieza de la chimenea. El fuste se encuentra rematado por una tulipa. La fábrica es de ladrillo.
Su estado de conservación es regular, presenta una ligera inclinación hacia el norte y necesitaría intervenciones de consolidación.
Este elemento arquitectónico está relacionado con el Patrimonio Industrial de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX. En toda la comarca de L’Horta, a finales del siglo XIX se construyen fábricas de ladrillos o rajolars, documentándose en la primera mitad del siglo XX 14 fábricas en esta zona próxima a la ciudad de Valencia.
