Description

Facing the Mediterranean Sea, it is a small quadrangular building with plastered and whitewashed masonry walls, a gabled tile roof and a lower sacristy -with a separate roof and entrance- attached to the chancel.

On the right side there are two high oculi and a window, all of them glazed and latticed. It has a wide front patio fenced and with structure for awning that as a Calvary includes in its perimeter the stations of the Via Crucis.

The facade, to which two of these stations are attached, ends in a triangular pediment; at its apex rises a belfry with a single hole with a bell contemporary to the time of construction of the chapel, cross and weathervane. The door of access, of great leaves of wood emplanchada, is framed in arch of average point with archivolts and has on her a niche with image of the Christ in ceramic tiles and the legend: Hermitage of the Most Holy Christ of the Mercy. At the expense of several devout neighbors [he/she names them] of this parish of Albuixech. Year 1951.

The interior has a black and white tiled floor and a lowered vault ceiling. The walls are painted white with gold profiles and dark baseboard. Behind the altar presides the presbytery golden altarpiece with a large open niche between columns for the image of Christ of Mercy. On both sides of the headwall some doors communicate with the sacristy. Other small imagery on pedestals, lithographs, lamps and diverse objects of worship complete the decoration.
