Description

The House of Culture of Alzira occupies the space of the old Pious Schools that date back to the 19th century. It is one of the most emblematic places in the city both for its exterior and for its interior facilities and for the activities that take place there throughout the year.
It is located on Escuelas Pías de Alzira street.
This building is an Asset of Local Relevance and the complex is protected as indicated in the Catalog of Assets and Protected Spaces of the Alzira City Council.
It has a façade of serial composition, in which a succession of large windows with neo-Romanesque ornamentation is repeated. It is a building built on the basis of solid brick walls and pilasters with wooden joists and girders, with plaster vaults and covered with Arabic tile. The interior has been transformed by renovations and adaptations to use. The patio is preserved in the original style, forming a cloister. For its design it was inspired by the Palau Cosme de Medicis by Michelozzo in Florence.
