Description

This sculptural ensemble of the Patron Saints of Alzira was designed by the artist José Manuel Martín Cortés in 2007. Its name is "Las tres púrpuras".

It is located in a roundabout in the central area of Tulell. It is a modern monument to the Patron Saints, Bernat, María and Gracia. With a modern design, it contrasts in every way with the classic monument on the Avenida Santos Patronos in Alzira.

The figures of the saints are made up of a part of high resistance coloured stoneware, which are the head, pectoral and hands. The skirts are metal, made of corten steel. The figure of San Bernat is 4.30 metres tall, while María and Gracia are 4.15 metres tall.

In addition, this roundabout has been complemented with the construction of an ornamental fountain surrounding the three sculptures. The fountain that surrounds the complex is made up of a total of 36 water jets. It has 12 jets that spout water three or four metres and 24 accompanying chalices. The ensemble also has a night-time lighting system that makes the different elements stand out.
