Description

It is a medieval monument, in Gothic-Mudejar style, located on the CV-42 in the municipality of Alzira, between the towns of Alzira and Algemesí.
It is an Asset of Cultural Interest. Legend has it that this is the traditional site of the death of Jaime I, who died there while he was being transported to Valencia in agony.
However, historians place his death in the Royal House (BIC), the residence that the king had in Alzira, considering the covered cross as a symbol of the conquest of the city for the Christian-Western civilisation
It was restored in 1962.
