Description

The Plaza de la Constitución, despite its small size, is a very busy leisure space in the current Benidorm. In the Plaza de la Constitución the streets of Quatre Cantons, Santísima Trinidad, Martínez Oriola, Costera del Barco and Carmela Martínez converge. It is a space from which you can access both the top of the castle and the flat part of the old town and therefore historically served as a link between the two areas as it was in its center.predominantly activities of "bars and tapas" so some call it "the street of wines. It shares this function with the nearby streets, especially Santo Domingo and Passeig de la Carretera, which is why this area is also popularly known as the "Basque area", as it is one of the preferred areas for visitors from Euzkadi.
However, this has not always been the case: in the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century it was the largest square in the town and it was the site of two very important economic activities at the time: it housed travelers in the inn and supplied food to the population through its street market.
