On a rocky slope north of the city, and opposite the medieval quarter and on the eastern slope of the Barranc de Fos are the so-called Covetes dels Moros.
It is not known when they were built or what they were used for, although they have been used as a shelter.
They are 53 artificial hollows excavated in the rock. They are located at a great height so their access was made by climbing as shown by the recesses of the hollows. The current access is by means of a newly installed stairway.
In the interior they are of small height what prevents to remain erect. They have different interior floors, and some of them have been connected to each other.
En un talud rocoso al norte de la ciudad, y frente al barrio medieval y en la ladera este del Barranc de Fos se encuentran las denominadas Covetes dels Moros.
Se desconoce la época de realización así como su utilización, aunque se han utilizado como refugio.
Se trata de 53 oquedades artificiales excavadas en la roca. Están situadas a gran altura por lo que su acceso se realizaba escalando como muestran los rebajes de las oquedades. El acceso actual se realiza mediante una escalera de nueva instalación.
Al interior son de pequeña altura lo que impide permanecer erguido. Presentan plantas interiores diferentes, y algunas de ellas han sido conectadas entre sí.
