Description

The church of San Pedro Apóstol is a Catholic temple located in the town square of Buñol (Valencia, Spain). It dates from the 18th century and is representative of the Valencian Necolasicism of the Academy of San Carlos.

The current church was built during the second third of the 18th century (during the reign of Charles III), although no specific dates are known. Nothing remains of the original façade, except for the doorway, flanked by two pairs of Corinthian pilasters on a plinth and two columns superimposed on the pilasters. The line of the entablature is altered by protrusions, corresponding to the free-standing columns that support a Roman-inspired pediment. The finial is made up of fleurons.
