Description

It is a rectangular building, and according to oral testimonies, it was originally located isolated from the group of dwellings. Originally, the building had a single entrance door and several windows, some of which were used for weighing and receiving the grapes.

The wine cellar was divided into four departments for treading the grapes, the tanks for storing the wine and the storage of equipment.

The first written reference we find to this building is dated 31st August 1920, in which Ms. Josefa Valdés Ferriz bought the winery from Mr. Plácido Gras for 24,000 pesetas. In 1939 Dª Josefa Valdés Ferriz, sold the winery to D. Gil Gómez Navarro, who in 1942 sold it to D. Eugenio Menor Hernández for 50.000 pesetas.
In 1949, Eugenio's widow sold half of the bodega building to Francisco Mataix Martínez. From that date onwards, the building underwent a series of major renovations, and at the same time lost its winemaking activity. Since then, the different sections have been used for different activities: warehouse, pig farm, fruit warehouse, kitchen furniture manufacture, wholesale trade of textile products or, at present, sale of vehicles.

Today the building is divided into three different premises, belonging to different owners, although on the outside it still retains its original structure, with the exception of the chamfered corner at one end.
