Description

The site is an area of distribution of ceramic material from the Iberian period on an elevation formed by the Barranco de Sesga ravine. It corresponds to the type of site chosen for the installation of Iberian settlements of these characteristics, a small elevation, in the form of a ship's spur, in this case easily defended thanks to the steep walls caused by the erosion of the ravine.
These motifs were also chosen for the construction of some sheepfolds at the base of the walls, in the same geological formation. With masonry walls. These must have been built in modern or contemporary times and have been used to this day.
The bottom of the ravine has also been used for the construction of a curious small-scale irrigation system with walls separating plots of land built with dry stone. No archaeological materials have been observed on the surface, but its characteristics, both in terms of location and morphology, especially the small pond, seem to indicate a possible Andalusian origin.
The quality of the surrounding landscape, together with the existence of these three elements in the same geological formation, are of sufficient value for the site and its surroundings to be protected as an Asset of Local Importance.
