Palacio de los Marqueses de Almunia (Castellonet de la Conquesta)

It is a building dating from the late seventeenth century and early eighteenth century. It is a noble residence and is a building of local relevance. It is made of irregular stone, wood and glass with doors and windows, metal balconies and Arabic tiles on the roof. In the last decades of the Ancient Regime it passed into the hands of "the Almunia", who were in possession of the title of Marquises of Ràfol since the 17th century. Castellonet was an independent seigniory of the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba, but the Hieronymite villages charged part of the third of the century. The Castellonet Palace was a palatial house built at the end of the 17th century according to the construction guidelines of the palaces that were built in large cities, with an internal structure of medieval origin consisting of the articulation of the rooms within a central courtyard with a staircase at one end leading to the upper floors. Progressively, the Almunia House has been abandoned and has been gradually degraded. It was rehabilitated a few years ago.

Es un edificio que data de finales del siglo XVII y principios del siglo XVIII. Se trata de una residencia nobiliaria y es un edificio de relevancia local. Está hecho de piedra irregular, de madera y cristal con puertas y ventanas, de balcones metálicos y teja árabe en la cobertera. En las últimas décadas del Antiguo Régimen pasó a manos de "los Almunia", que estaban en posesión del título de marqueses de Ràfol desde el siglo XVII. Castellonet era un señorío independiente del Monasterio de Sant Jeroni de Cotalba, pero los pueblos jerónimos cobraban parte del tercio del siglo. El Palacio de Castellonet era una casa palaciega construida a finales del siglo XVII según las directrices constructivas de los palacios que se edificaban en las grandes urbes, con una estructura interna de origen medieval consistente en la articulación de las dependencias dentro de un patio central con una escala en uno de los extremos que conducía a los pisos superiores. Progresivamente, la Casa de los Almunia se ha ido abandonando, se ha degradado de manera paulatina. Hace pocos años que se rehabilitó.
