Erected as a Moorish rectory in 1535, this parish church preserves from that period the "retablo de la Sangre" (1538), with representations of the sacraments being born from Christ's side. The new church, blessed in 1675, stands next to the large bell tower, in the characteristic style of Mínguez, which retains traces of polychromy.
The interior of the church maintains almost all the original elements in exceptionally good condition, among them the monumental Baroque main altarpiece with Rococo details (18th century) with gilded carving and one of the few of these characteristics preserved in Valencia, together with beautiful images, such as the Saint Joseph (1784), attributed to the great academic sculptor José Esteve.
In 2000, restoration work was completed on the façade, the interior and the main altarpiece of this church. On the occasion of its 325th anniversary, it was solemnly dedicated by the Archbishop. It also has a parish museum with sacred art.
Erigida como rectoría de moriscos en 1535, esta parroquia conserva de esa época el "retablo de la Sangre" (1538), con las representaciones de los sacramentos naciendo del lado de Cristo. El nuevo templo, bendecido en 1675, se alza junto al gran campanario, del estilo característico de Mínguez, que conserva restos de policromía.
El interior de la iglesia mantiene en excepcional buen estado casi todos los elementos originales, entre ellos el monumental retablo mayor barroco con detalles rococó (siglo XVIII) de talla dorada y uno de los pocos de estas características conservados en Valencia, junto a bellas imágenes, como el San José (1784), atribuido al gran escultor académico José Esteve.
En 2000 concluyen las obras de restauración de la fachada, del interior y del retablo mayor de este templo. Con este motivo, en su 325 aniversario, fue solemnemente dedicado por el sr. Arzobispo. También posee un museo parroquial con arte sacro.
