Description

The simplicity and austerity of the Church of San Onofre make it a special place for the local people. It dates back to 1574 and is of neoclassical style, although in 1748, an earthquake destroyed the entire temple and it was rebuilt years later.

Of its architecture, its nave of four sections built in mortar and masonry stands out. In addition, it is covered by a barrel vault with attached pilasters and without lateral chapels. The only one was built in the 1790s and is dedicated to the Virgen de los Dolores.

Another striking feature is that its bell tower is separated from the floor plan of the church. And what to say about its great religious heritage. Among the images and sculptures, the processional carving of San Onofre and a chalice given by Carlos IV stand out.
