Description

Presiding over the Main Square, the old centre of power, next to the Ducal Palace and the Collegiate Church of Santa María.
The current building dates from 1778, and its neoclassical façade is the only part of the building that has been preserved in its original state. The middle part of the façade is decorated with four columns, inspired by the columns of Greek temples, with a circular medallion carved in stone in the centre. At the top, there is a balustrade topped by four stone busts representing the four cardinal virtues: justice, fortitude, temperance and prudence, considered to be the virtues of good government and a reminder of the path that every politician should follow.
