Description

The Museum of Santa Clara is located in the old Hospital Sant Marc, right next to the river Serpis and the old medieval wall.
The Museum houses one of the most important collections of religious art in the Comunitat Valenciana and forms part of the museum complex of the Old Hospital of Sant Marc, a late medieval building founded in the 14th century by the first Duke of Gandia, Alfons el Vell.

This space exhibits the valuable artistic heritage that the congregation of the Poor Sisters of Santa Clara has been treasuring since the 15th century, a legacy that includes works by painters such as Paolo da San Leocadio, Nicolau Falcó, Joan de Joanes, José de Ribera, or sculptors such as Pedro de Mena, as well as a notable display of 16th century gold and silver work.
