The port of Gandía is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, in the Spanish town of the same name in the south of the province of Valencia.
A Royal Order of 1884 authorised Don Sinibaldo Gutiérrez to build the first port works in this coastal enclave, whose objectives were, on the one hand, to import the coal needed by Alcoy's textile industries, and on the other, to export the area's products to overseas markets.
The main uses of this port today are: sports, fishing and commercial.
El puerto de Gandía se encuentra situado a orillas del mar Mediterráneo, en la localidad española del mismo nombre del sur de la provincia de Valencia.
Una Real Orden de 1884 autorizaría a Don Sinibaldo Gutiérrez a construir las primeras obras portuarias en ese enclave costero, cuyos objetivos eran, por una parte importar el carbón que necesitaban las industrias textiles alcoyanas, y por otra, exportar los productos de la zona a los mercados ultramarinos.
Los usos principales que tiene hoy en día este puerto son: deportivo, pesquero y comercial.
