These shelters were built between 1938 and 1939 and were intended to protect the population from aerial bombardment. In each of them, visitors can learn about their construction through explanatory panels and walk through 60-70 metres of tunnel. In the Peixateria tunnel, you can also see a fragment of the 14th century Gandia wall, on which the tunnel is built.
The Prado tunnel was remodelled years ago, taking advantage of the underground car park works.
Estos refugios se construyeron entre los años 1938 y 1939 y tenían la función de proteger a la población de los bombardeos aéreos. En cada uno ellos, el visitante puede conocer a través de paneles explicativos aspectos sobre su construcción y recorrer unos 60-70 metros de túnel. En el de la Peixateria, además, se puede observar un fragmento de la muralla de Gandia del siglo XIV, sobre la que está construido el túnel.
El del Prado se rehabilitó hace años aprovechando las obras del aparcamiento subterráneo.
