Description

This spot, with a rich natural biodiversity of flora and fauna, is made up of small, circular ponds of moderate depth, created by the springs of numerous ullals. Here we can observe riverside vegetation such as poplar, lime and willow, as well as typical marshland flora, and where different species of birds such as mallards and herons live.

Els Ullals are freshwater springs that emerge from the subsoil, a natural phenomenon typical of the Valencian coastline and very vulnerable to human action. Within the ecosystems of the marshes, the Ullals are of great environmental importance as they have quality water all year round, even in years of severe drought.

This lagoon area is equipped with walkways and paths for visitors that link l´Ullal del L´Estany and L´Ullal de la Perla, two ponds supplied by groundwater from the karstic aquifer of the Mondúver Massif and water from the irrigation channels, ravines and rainfall.
We can observe riverside vegetation such as poplars, lime trees and willows, as well as the typical flora of the marsh that delimits and surrounds the site, which is home to different species of birds, such as mallards and herons.
