Description

The tower of the Boil Palace House, also called Casa Palacio de Serdanyola.
The original house, a medieval palace dating from the 15th century, was destroyed in the Civil War. The tower pavilion, built on the south-eastern side of the orchard of the Casa Palacio, dates from the 18th century and has a rectangular floor plan, including the tower in one of its corners. The ground floor, which preserves the original flooring, has two rooms, one of which is smaller and has a handkerchief vault, and the other, where the staircase leading to the upper floors is located. The first floor, which still has green and white 'mocadoret' tiles on the floor, with three borders of floral motifs surrounding them, repeating the motif in the smaller adjoining room. The first floor has a small height, with oculi and a small window overlooking the staircase. On the first floor, the floor alternates between white tiles and others with floral decoration, with a border with fruit motifs, and the sun is depicted in the corners.
The tower has a four-sided roof truncated by an octagonal drum with a hemispherical vault above it. The drum has four windows on four sides, while statues symbolising the four seasons are depicted in the other four niches. On the outside, the vault is covered with blue and white tiles. It has belonged to the Town Hall since 1969 and has been declared a National Historic and Artistic Monument since 1979. It was restored in 1942.
