Centro interpretación El Faro de l'Albir(L' Alfàs del Pi)

The lighthouse of l'Albir is a unique historical building built in 1863 with the aim of signalling the northern end of the Serra Gelada. The building was inhabited by two lighthouse keepers until the 1960s, when the constant presence of a technician at the lighthouse became unnecessary. Although the lighthouse lantern never fails to shine, the lack of maintenance led to a constant degradation of the structure, until in 2011 the Town Council of l'Alfàs del Pi refurbished the building. In the rooms where the two lighthouse keepers used to live, an exhibition centre has been designed with a journey through the nature and history of the Serra Gelada. At present, the lighthouse of l'Albir is the only one in the Valencian Community with a shared use, as a maritime signal and cultural centre. This centre has been awarded the Blue Centre flag, a symbol of quality, good management and excellence since 2013.

El faro de l’Albir es un edificio histórico singular construido en 1863 con el objetivo de señalizar el extremo septentrional de la Serra Gelada. El edificio estuvo habitado por dos fareros hasta los años sesenta, cuando se hizo innecesaria la presencia constante de un técnico en el faro. A pesar de que la linterna del faro nunca deja de lucir, la falta de mantenimiento dio lugar a una constante degradación de la estructura, hasta que en 2011 el Ayuntamiento de l’Alfàs del Pi rehabilitó el edificio. En las habitaciones donde antiguamente vivían los dos fareros se ha diseñado un centro expositivo con un recorrido por la naturaleza y la historia de la Serra Gelada. En la actualidad, el faro de l’Albir es el único de la Comunidad Valenciana con un uso compartido, como señal marítima y centro cultural. Este centro está dotado con bandera Centro Azul, símbolo de calidad, buena gestión y excelencia desde el año 2013.
