The antic trenet is the oldest railway line on the peninsula. It was inaugurated in 1864 and connected Carcaixent with the region of Ribera Alta and Gandia in La Safor. Its construction was due to the need to communicate the interior regions with the coast in order to facilitate the transport of mainly agricultural products. On its way, the train crossed the mountainous sections and the cultivated fields. Several elements of the route are preserved in the district of Ribera Alta, among them we find a "portabarreres" house, this small construction served as a home for the workers who looked after the roads.
El antic trenet es el trazado ferroviario más antiguo de la península. Fue inaugurado en 1864 y conectaba Carcaixent con la comarca de la Ribera Alta y Gandia en la Safor. Su construcción se debió a la necesidad de comunicar las comarcas interiores con la costa con el objetivo de facilitar el transporte de productos principalmente agrícolas. En su trayecto, el tren recorría los tramos montañosos y los campos de cultivo. A la pedanía de la Ribera Alta se conservan varios elementos del trazado, entre ellos encontramos una casa "portabarreres", esta construcción pequeña servía de vivienda para los trabajadores que cuidaban las vías.
