Description

Despite its long history, the Palauet Nolla (built in the 17th century as a farmhouse) is best known for its heyday, when it was part of the mosaic company's factory complex. Miguel Nolla had the brilliant idea, at the time of starting the construction of his warehouses, to keep the farmhouse as part of his facilities, and to use it to show his most prestigious clients the beauty and possibilities of his product. Thus, the guests started their visit in the production halls, where they could admire the production of such material, the modern machinery and the process. They would then move on to the recreation area, the Palauet, where they could see the final result, through mosaics of great beauty and variety.
A key part of its commercial strategy, it was visited by a large part of the high society of the second half of the 19th century.
The magnificent collection of mosaics in the building reflects the different types of designs that could be made with this ceramic. In addition to the entire floor, compositions adorn numerous plinths, the west façade, the north façade and even the dome of the tower. Numerous parietal compositions also enhance the façades of the porches. One of the most remarkable elements is undoubtedly the portrait of the company's founder, located at the top of the east façade, overlooking the factory courtyard, welcoming visitors.
