Description

The church, dedicated to Saint Bartholomew (19th century), is a Latin cross building in neoclassical style. Its interior is made up of 3 naves. The two towers on the facade and the dome of the altar stand out.

The neoclassical façade is oriented towards the river, highlighted by two towers and the dome. The composition is classical and simple without ornamental concessions with two pairs of pilasters flanking the entrance door that give way to the second body. In this second section, the semicircular window in the centre stands out. The façade is crowned by a classic triangular pediment and two square towers with four semicircular openings for the bells. The tower on the left has a clock while the other one houses two bells, the first bell called "Santa Barbera" weighs 144 Kg. and was cast in 1753.

The interior of the church is accessed by six steps leading to an entrance gate the width of the central nave. To the right of the doorway is the old stone baptismal font with two unequal openings. Once inside, we can see how the central nave is covered by a continuous barrel vault, with arches that rest on the six large pillars that articulate the interior. The side aisles are covered by vaulted vaults and the top is covered by a dome without a lantern with eight ribs on the inside that follow one another in a closed oculus.
