Iglesia Parroquial de la Purísima Concepción(Pedralba)

Tall, slender and elegant, the baroque church of the Purísima Concepción has been guarding Pedralba for more than 300 years. Its impressive stone walls seem unapproachable to the eye.

Spectacular, it is the most representative monument of a town that proudly boasts of its temple. Built with rocks extracted from its own entrails, it keeps in every centimeter of its structure the pure essence of the land where it was born. If its façade, adorned with a moon on one side and a sun on the other, and in which its chiseled portico stands out, is beautiful, what to say about its interior.

To qualify it with the justice it deserves becomes little less than heroic. There, the main altar is the star. Golden and shiny, it protects its patron saint, the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. This rests on a crown of flowers and is located between the figures of a castle and a well, which represent, they say, wisdom and protection. In them trust the many faithful who, daily, prostrate themselves at her feet to pay homage.

Alta, esbelta y elegante, la iglesia barroca de la Purísima Concepción custodia a Pedralba desde hace más de 300 años. Sus impresionantes muros de piedra parecen inabordables a la vista.

Espectacular, es el monumento más representativo de una villa que presume orgullosa de su templo. Construido con las rocas extraídas de sus propias entrañas, guarda en cada centímetro de su estructura la esencia pura de la tierra que la vio nacer. Si su fachada, adornada con una luna en un costado y un sol en el otro, y en la que sobresale su cincelado pórtico, es hermosa, qué decir de su interior.

Calificarlo con la justicia que se merece se convierte en poco menos que una heroicidad. Allí, el altar Mayor es la estrella. Dorado y brillante, protege a su patrona, la Virgen de la Purísima Concepción. Esta descansa sobre una corona de flores y se ubica entre las figuras de un castillo y un pozo, que representan, según dicen, sabiduría y protección. En ellas confían los numerosos fieles que, a diario, se postran ante sus pies para rendirle pleitesía.
