Fiestas patronales en honor a la Virgen de la Ermitana(Peñíscola)

From 7 September to the second Sunday in September, the festivities in honour of the Virgen de la Ermitana, Patron Saint of Peñíscola, are held. A week full of events: Proclamation of the Queen of the Fiestas and her Court of Honour, traditional dances, the "solta" (release) of heifers and the great Moors and Christians parades. It is worth mentioning the ringing of the bells on the first day of September to announce the arrival of the patron saint's fiestas, an act that is passed down from generation to generation, and the nights of the novena of the Virgin (prayers in the chapel) which are lived with great devotion.

Del 7 de septiembre al segundo domingo de septiembre, se celebran las fiestas en honor a la Virgen de la Ermitana, Patrona de Peñíscola. Una semana llena de actos:Proclamación de la Reina de las Fiestas y de su corte de Honor, danzas tradicionales, la "solta" de vaquillas y los grandes desfiles de Moros y Cristianos. Cabe destacar el volteo de campanas el primer dia de septiembre que anuncian que pronto llegan las fiestas patronales, acto que pasa de generación tras generación, las noches a la novena de la Virgen (rezo en la ermita) que se vive con gran devoción.
