Description

The chapel was blessed on 3 February 1702. It is currently dedicated to the Virgen del Carmen, but everyone knows it as the Hermitage of San Apolinar, its original patron saint and the object of great devotion in the village.

It is a masonry building with other outbuildings attached to its left side. On the right side there are several buttresses that reach the eaves of the gabled roof. The façade, previously smooth and whitewashed, now leaves the masonry exposed and ends in a belfry with a bell. The entrance is framed by a stone doorway, with a carved cornice over the lintel. On both sides there are two steps forming steps.

The interior is large, rectangular and has a single nave covered with a barrel vault and blind lunettes. An octagonal pulpit stands out on the left side. In the presbytery there is a Gothic wooden altarpiece with a great profusion of gilding, which houses the image of the Virgin of Carmen with the Child.
