Description

It is located in the Plaza de la Iglesia, in the historic center of Xeraco. Its construction dates from the eighteenth century and is neoclassical in style, with a modernist facade. The construction of the temple began in 1701 and, throughout its more than three centuries of history has undergone several extensions, to accommodate all parishioners. It has two bell towers. One of them, the small one, is attached to the church and is thought to be the old minaret of the mosque, which was located in the same place. The temple was built following the architectural scheme of the Valencian churches and today consists of a single nave, covered with barrel vault over semicircular arches, supported on lateral pilasters or buttresses. It has 7 lateral chapels on each side of the nave, dedicated to the devotion of the saints and communicated by corridors, being the largest the communion chapel, covered by a dome covered with blue glazed tiles, with an altar in the center with Christ and the tabernacle. The presbytery has a straight chancel with two paintings on each side. In the middle there is a niche with the image of the patron saint, Our Lady of the Incarnation.
