Description

This tower is one of the emblems of the town. It is located on the Vaca River. Its construction took place in the sixteenth century and its purpose was the surveillance and maritime guard of the kingdom of Valencia. It is a circular tower with mortar walls 80 to 100 centimeters wide. Its current height is 7.40 meters. The access to the tower is through a door designed with a semicircular arch with ashlar voussoirs and its dimensions are 1.80 meters high by 0.50 wide. The tower had 3 floors and over its access there was a large window, both of which have now disappeared. In the 80's, the Guaita Tower was restored by a group of neighbors who, unselfishly, recovered with their work this authentic symbol of Xeraco. At present the state of this tower is practically ruinous.
