Marjal de Xeresa(Xeresa)

The Xeresa marsh is a wet and marshy terrain that began as a lagoon like the one in Valencia that, over time, has become isolated. In addition, seawater has seeped into the land; changing the salinity and the amount of fresh water. The water table causes the excess water to drain into the sea in autumn and spring. The Xeresa marsh is one of the most important wetlands on the peninsula; since it is a space with exceptional ecological and biological value. It has been declared as a fauna reserve and flora microreserve, since in its interior there are endemic plants and unique species in their places of reproduction. The route through the marsh has three great places, starting in Xeresa and arriving at the Duc de Gandia farmhouse, so the difficulty is zero for any type of hiker.

La marjal de Xeresa es un terreno húmedo y pantanoso que ha comenzado siendo una albufera como la de Valencia que, con el tiempo, ha quedado aislada. Además, el agua de mar, se ha filtrado por la tierra; cambiando la salinidad y la cantidad de agua dulce. El nivel freático genera que en otoño y primavera se drene el exceso de agua al mar. La marjal de Xeresa es una de las zonas húmedas más importantes de la península; ya que es un espacio con un excepcional valor ecológico y biológico. Ha sido declarado como reserva de fauna y microreserva de flora, ya que en su intererior se encuentran plantas endémicas y especies únicas en sus lugares de reproducción. La ruta por la marjal tiene tres grandes parajes, comenzando en Xeresa y arribando a la alquería del Duc de Gandia, por lo que la dificultad es nula para cualquier tipo de senderista.
