Description

The first monastic settlement dates back to the 8th century. The name "alle malve" probably derives from the presence of mallow in the surrounding area.
The religious building was dedicated to the patron saint of eyes. The church is distinguished for having maintained numerous well-preserved frescoes over time. Outside the church, on the right, a steep set of steps leads to the plateau above the former monastic complex, where the necropolis known as the Cimitero Barbarico is located. These are TOMBS from the Lombard era, hollowed out of the rocks.
