Description

The Haydamatskyi Yar is located near the village of Busha and stretches for 2 kilometers along the Bushanka valley (a tributary of the Murafa river). According to legend, it was in this area in the 18th century that the Haidamaks hid together with their leader Ivan Honta. This place can be called an open-air museum. Only one author of all the works is the nature. The air here is especially clean, you can enjoy the silence and imagine yourself a hero of the Trypillian epic. By the way, on the territory of the tract and the village of Busha, archaeologists found traces of Chernyakhiv and Trypillian cultures, Cossacks. And in 1883, scientist Volodymyr Antonovych found an ancient rock temple within the Haidamatskyi Yar. The most interesting part of the Haidamatskyi Yar stretches along the river - these are huge intricate sandstone sculptures. And many of these rocks played an important role in the history of Ukraine: for example, the Haidamak Cave in the 18th century was a refuge of the Haidamaks. There is an assumption that there is a well deep in the middle of this cave, but so far speleologists have not found anything like that. These sandstone rocks have bizarre names: Mushroom, Ram and Hound's Stone. It is said that Ivan Honta liked to be alone with his thoughts here. And there are about 150 such various rocks in the Haidamatskyi Yar. In addition, there is a castle in Bush, which, unfortunately, has not survived to this day, and an ancient Cossack cemetery. You can learn more about the history of the region in the ethnographic museum of Busha village.
