Description

The river is a tributary of the Dnipro and stretches for as much as 365 kilometers. The plain river in some places very much resembles a mountain stream due to the granite banks that bind it. In some places the bank descends to the water with a smooth sandy beach, while others form a rocky coast. The rocks of the canyon attract tourists who want to enjoy the beautiful landscape and beginner climbers.
The natural monument did not appear immediately, it took many years. Under the influence of wind and various natural processes, the stone rock acquired a monumental shape, forming a canyon. The gorge stretches for 2 kilometers, and the height of the rocks that form it reaches 30 meters. What to see near the Zhytomyr Canyon: On the right bank of the river is the Four Brothers rock, and on the left is one of the symbols of Zhytomyr - Chatsky's Head. This natural monument appeared due to the efforts of nature without human intervention. The name of the monument came from the similarity of the rock with the profile of Chatsky.
