Description

Museum dedicated to the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks, which offers the most picturesque view of the DniproHES dam.
The following expositions are presented in the museum of the history of Zaporizhzhia Cossacks:
- Zaporizhzhya Cossacks in historical and fiction literature;
- The period of Kyiv Rus;
- Orthodoxy on the Ukrainian lands;
- Modern history of Zaporizhzhia region;
- New archaeological finds of the National Reserve.
Today, more than 30 thousand items covering the historical period BC are collected under the vaults of the Museum. There are expositions dedicated to ancient times, the period of Kyiv Rus, the Cossack era, the modern history of Zaporizhzhia region, as well as 4 dioramas: Battle of Kyiv Prince Svyatoslav, Military Council in Sich, Liberation of Zaporizhzhia.
Not far from the museum on the island of Khortytsia you can find a stone pillar on which it is written that Prince Svyatoslav (son of Princess Olga) was probably killed here. There is also a mysterious black stone, which is believed to have great magical power.
