Description

Declared a National Historic Monument on August 14, 1986. Included as a Property of Municipal Interest, on August 5, 1995. Included in the Unesco Indicative List on June 5, 2010. La Rambla de Montevideo is a space with which they identify the montevideanos. It is about 22 km of coastline that were built in different sections in the 20th century. It is said that it is one of the most democratic walks in the city since it allows, whoever wants to do it, to walk, contemplate, enjoy this beautiful coast of the Río de la Plata. In addition to being one of the most important tourist attractions, it is the most used heritage site in the city. It is directly associated with events, traditions and customs. It is a space where the interaction between man and the natural environment is manifested. It constitutes an example of a material intervention characteristic of a certain historical period.
